To SSD or to not SSD

It currently isn’t listed but right now I am running a Sony Vaio, 2.2 GHz, 2GB, Dual Core Centrino, 15.4″ wide-screen laptop that I do my blogging and day to day life on. The only thing I didn’t do when I ordered this laptop is to upgrade the hard drive. Right now I am running a 5400 RPM 100GB hard drive and it is the weak point of this system. I want a Solid State Drive in the worst way but I don’t want to pay the cash right now. I would if I thought that the price wouldn’t get driven down in the next 6 months when the manufacturers get their asses in gear.
